Children and teens struggling with anger— tantrums, resistance to chores, and negativity—cause big problems. This innovative workshop, based on Dr. Bernstein’s popular books, 10 Days to a Less Defiant Child and The Anxiety, Depression, & Anger Toolbox for Teens, teach how to reduce anger and defiance in children and teens. Also addressed is coaching parents and educators to reduce children’s and teen’s defiant behavior.
Objectives:
- Explain how to reduce and prevent angry outbursts, aggression and violence
- Create a plan to help teens to think and reflect before reacting
- Apply how to reduce power struggles at home and school
- Describe parent coaching methods to help kids trust and value adults
Jeffrey Bernstein, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized parent coach and psychologist. He has over 30 years experience providing child, adolescent, couples, family counseling and parent coaching. Dr. Bernstein conducts seminars and public speaking events on child/teen/adult child anger, self-esteem, addictions, self-mutilation, ADHD, learning disabilities, discipline, difficult children, and parenting issues throughout the greater Philadelphia area. His work has been profiled in several media sources, including radio in several countries, the Today Show, Court TV as an expert advisor, and NBC National News. Bernstein also has been repeatedly quoted in Men’s Health and Cosmopolitan Magazines. His seven books include 10 Days to a Less Defiant Child (2023), The Anxiety, Depression, & Anger Toolbox for Teens (2020), and the Letting Go Of Anger Card Deck (2017).
