This training equips clinicians to recognize, respond to, and treat individuals impacted by human trafficking. Participants will examine current trends, risk factors, and recruitment tactics while learning to differentiate between sex and labor trafficking. The session emphasizes accurate identification, multidisciplinary collaboration, and ethical responsibilities. Clinicians will also develop trauma-responsive and culturally attuned treatment skills grounded in survivor-centered, empowerment-focused care. Through case examples, discussions, and applied learning, participants will enhance their ability to provide safe, informed, and effective support to survivors of human trafficking.
Objectives:
- Analyze key risk factors, recruitment tactics, and grooming strategies used by traffickers.
- Recognize behavioral, psychological, and environmental red flags of trafficking.
- Describe ethical responsibilities, reporting requirements, and confidentiality considerations related to trafficking cases.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic modalities beneficial for survivor care.
