Substance Use Disorders have long been neglected by Psychologists, due to lack of training and ongoing stigma, among other reasons. But SUDs affect as many as 50% of those already in treatment, and often go undetected and untreated, impairing progress with other concerns. This program will provide a comprehensive theoretical understanding of SUDs and will emphasize practical engagement and treatment strategies.

Objectives:
1 Assess substance use disorders in the clinical population.
2. Create an appropriate treatment plan to address SUDs.
3. Analyze the degree of impairment of SUD to determine appropriate level of care.
4. Describe the core symptoms of addiction
5. Recognize differences between addiction and problem substance use.
