This will be an informal discussion about starting, running and executing a private practice in psychology and neuropsychology. Students will be engaged in discussion on business development, marketing, financial and legal/ethical issues in practice.

Neha Dixit, PhD

Neha K. Dixit, PhD is a licensed neuropsychologist and owner of Mindful Neuropsychological Services. With her 15 years of experience, she helps adults and older adults who are having changes in their everyday thinking and cognition due to such conditions as aging, concussions, dementia, ADHD, and/or mild cognitive impairment.

Dr. Dixit specializes in healthy aging and brain-behavior relationships, using her clinical expertise to evaluate a patient’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses. She takes a patient-centered approach to neuropsychological testing to empower patients and their loved ones with information to help support the aging brain.

Dr. Dixit completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Florida. Throughout her training and career, she has gained comprehensive experience in various medical centers and settings, including the Veterans Administration and private practice. Although she specializes in the adult and older populations, Dr. Dixit has also worked with the pediatric population.

Settling here in Bryn Mawr with her family, she started Mindful Neuropsychological Services to help adults and older adults achieve new heights in their senior years. Her passion is helping you live optimally, regardless of age or life circumstances. For Dr. Neha K. Dixit, brain health is mental health. She offers neuropsychological services in both English and Gujarati languages.

Katherine Baum, PhD, ABPP

Katherine Baum, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and board-certified neuropsychologist with extensive expertise in assessing children, adolescents, and young adults. Over the past decade, she has held prominent roles in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including as the neuropsychologist for the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Baum now leads her private practice, Comprehensive Neuropsychology Services, PLLC, in Bryn Mawr, PA, where she resides with her family.

With nearly 20 years of experience, she has worked extensively with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Her expertise, however, lies in acquired brain injuries, including traumatic brain injury, genetic conditions, brain tumors, infections, stroke, epilepsy, and cardiac conditions, to name a few.

Her practice emphasizes a strengths-based approach, empowering children and families through a deeper understanding of how their brains function. She is committed to providing actionable insights and guiding families as their children progress through key developmental stages. Collaboration is central to her work, fostering strong partnerships with other professionals, schools, and community members.

Dr. Baum earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Her diverse training includes experience in hospitals, community mental health, schools, and the Veterans Administration (VA), working with both pediatric and adult populations.
