DESCRIPTION:Marijuana – What Every Therapist Should Know \nFriday\, October 20\, 2023 \nRegistration 8:30am Program 9am to 12pm \nPresented By: Dan Warner\, Ph.D. \nLocation: Online Workshop \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \n \n\n \n3 CE Credits \nAct 48 available \nAn introduction for psychotherapists on marijuana.  Reviews what we know about the physiological mechanisms and how they link to mental functioning.  Will include discussion of common therapeutic uses\, addiction concerns\, and Pennsylvania relevant legal issues.  Special topics include marijuana use in children/teens and the elderly.  The program is interactive\, including case discussions. \nObjectives: \n\nDescribe the neurological processes of the endocannabinoid system and its triggering via cannabinoid\nExplain the special health risks and benefits related to marijuana use for children\, adults and older adults.\nList the steps one takes in Pennsylvania for obtaining a medical marijuana card\nCritique differences between marijuana products\, especially CBD and THC products\, through recourse to research and neuroscience.\n\nDan Warner Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist residing in Pittsburgh\, PA.  He is the executive director of Community Data Roundtable\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a data-driven human services system.  In his clinical work\, Dr. Warner provides consultation on psychopharmacology\, including medicinal and lifestyle use of marijuana.  Dr. Warner has presented on such topics for both the Greater Pittsburgh Psychological Association\, where he is currently the president\, and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association\, where he is active in efforts to obtain prescription privileges for psychologists.  Dr. Warner is currently finishing up his Masters of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. \n  \nPSCP: The Psychology Network is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
